FROM THE BOOK · PUZZLE 01
Start with three neighbours, three drinks and three places in line. New to logic grids? Follow our step-by-step solving guide.
At the village cafe, three neighbours collect a different drink each. The kettle is slow, so only one order is ready at a time. Match each neighbour with a drink and work out the order in which the three drinks are collected.
Use a pencil and paper to note who comes first, second and third, and which drink each person collects. Each person and drink has a different place.
“Earlier” can mean any earlier place. “Immediately before” means the place directly before.
Clue 1: Mint tea must be first or second.
If the Mint tea entry were third, there would be no later place for Cleo.
| Place | Person | Drink |
|---|---|---|
| First | Amira | Cocoa |
| Second | Ben | Mint tea |
| Third | Cleo | Coffee |
Every clue fits. The book includes a separate hint and a worked solution for every puzzle.
